This post took a little longer to put up than I had planned, but the project itself is super easy. So without further ado, here is a fun DIY wrapping paper idea that you can quickly whip up with stuff you have lying around your house. Perfect for last minute gifts, and also a great project to do with kids. Here's what you'll need:
-Potatoes!
-Round cookie cutter approximately 1 - 2" in diameter
-Carving tools, such as a knife or small cookie cutters
-Hard plastic straw or wooden dowel
-Craft paper or brown paper bags
-Stamp pads
First, peel your potatoes. Then slice them lengthwise into about 2 or 3 slices. Now use your cookie cutter to cut out some "wheels":
Once you have your wheels, carve the edges into designs:
You'll be surprised how cool a few little circles or zig zags will look when they are rolled onto your paper. Poke a hole in the center of the wheel with a dowel or plastic straw. (You can use one potato wheel or several stacked together to make a wider design). Next, use a stamp pad to ink up your wheel. Then, roll away and voila! Custom wrapping paper in an instant.
Such an epic procedure!
Simply artistic and now Imma try this!
