I've always wanted to go to the Brimfield Antique and Flea Market. It's about a three hour drive from where I live, and I've tried to get there for the last couple of years. This summer, I finally made the trek with my friend Jill, and it was everything I had hoped for: 21 fields loaded with antiques, furniture, collectibles, vintage fabric and trims, and chotchkes of every variety. The various "shows" are all located within a one mile stretch on both sides of Route 20. It's like an amazing fireworks show with booths that just keep coming! What is more fun than hunting for treasures at a flea market? Brimfield, I found out, is the largest outdoor antique show in New England, with something like 5,000 exhibitors. So much inspiration!
This was one of the most fun (and incredibly styled) stops along the way. It was sponsored by Nifty Thrifty Dry Goods -- unbelievable!
Here are some of my (tiny!) purchases. (I had to make sure I could carry everything back with me, so the smaller the better!)
These are vintage curtain pull backs. I don't know what I'm going to do with them...
A beautiful stoneware bowl!
Vintage buttons... I bought these to make more cupcake pincushions...more on that later.

I'm a writer, crafter, and designer of cute little accessories and home
goods.
